setting is mideval-ish with some twists. basically creation happened, all powerfull force made #1 angel and #1 devil. they made thier "kids" and pretty much have been fighting ever since. now its spilled over from the magical realm to the "realm of man" bringing all kinds of races (minataurs, centaurs, cat men, elves, dwarves etc) into play.
for character generation if you are familiar with the point buy system used by whitewolf this is really really similar. from what i can tell so far you only need 4 dice, d20, d6 and 2 d10 (for percentile rolls). i'm still trying to iron out the bugs on learning to make a character but last night i cranked out 2 in about 45-50 mins (minus equipment that has to be purchased as i didnt have any dice to roll for how much money the characters get).
the combat sequence is gonna take some getting used to as its initiative based however you can get extra attacks/actions in if you are double your opponent, depending on what skills you get its somewhat "easy" to not only get x2 damage, x4 damage or even up to x8 damage from a single attack!
magic is also a bit tricky to get down. i'm thinking of doing the starter campaign from the book with Al (if he's interested) and perhaps 1 or 2 others if we can find someone interested. however i wont be letting them do magic right away until we get the other mechanics down as i dont need to many monkey wrenches other than what i throw at them!
they do have a website that anyone can check out with some free trial stuff or you can buy the system on pdf format or order the book.
